King Prawn Sambal Recipe (Serves 4) (see also: Vegetarian Sambal)

What you will need:

  • 180g Mama Tan’s Sambal Paste
  • 300g king prawns (shelled and deveined)
  • 2 medium onion (sliced)
  • 200g fine beans (cut in half)
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 2 tbsp. light soy sauce (optional)
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil

To prepare:

  1. Heat 1 tbsp.of oil in a hot wok or frying pan, quick fry prawns for approximately 1 minutes. Remove and drain prawns on a piece of paper.
  2. Quickly wipe your wok or frying pan with kitchen paper, then turn on high heat and add 1 tbsp of oil. Fry onions until it turns translucent then add fine beans and Mama Tan’s Sambal Paste, water and soy sauce (optional) and cook for a further 1 - 2 minutes. Finally, add in pre-cooked prawns, quickly stir fry prawns are cooked thoroughly.
  3. Best serve with plain boiled rice and fresh sliced cucumber. Enjoy!

(Hints and tips)

Mama Tan’s Sambal Paste goes really well with seafood baked dishes as well so why not try that too? Make a foil parcel, and add any seafood you fancy, with all the above ingredients without adding water or oil in a bowl, mix well. Seal the parcel and bake in the oven on high heat for about 10-15 minutes, or until cooked.

Permenant Stall
